I found laughter yesterday

Photo by Gabriel Matula on Unsplash

It took a bottle of whiskey but I found her

And I swirled in that loose

Insanity

Until I faltered

And rest began

It’s gross descent

That led to nightmares

I can’t quite forget

I woke up

With the

Residue of laugh

Smeared upon

My guilty face

And for a second I embrace

This unreality

The unrealistic

Yesterday

But sooner than I

Had time to fight for

The might of

Tuesday night

Barricades right into me

My lip is split

From chewing on it

And the warmth

The amber glove anxiety

Fits itself

Right inside of me,

My heavy pulse
